Why dubbed movie songs are not popular as that of Original

In the original version songs were super hits but on dubbing to Tamil those songs were horrible to hear. Example Kadal Or kavithai, Thalam , ottam etc. Possible reasons could be 1. lyrics 2. movie itself a failure 3. Music not suitable for TF etc.Share the list and inform whether only other language songs are a failure in Tamil or Tamil songs becomes a failure in other lang. too. Exceptions may be most of IR songs (atlest popular in all south indian langauages), Roja etc.

  This is very generic statement. mostly from tfm to hfm and the vice versa failed. chippikul muthu, chalangkai oli were all hit movies only. Malayalam dubbing (or shot together) Ore Vaanam Ore Bhoomi was also hit. It works well within south india.

  true paran. those movies were only failures. the hindi version of the songs were better than tamiz version. I liked Vatta Vatta NilavonRu varaivaan than its hindi version. Truly speaking as album also tallam was a failure in tamiz. See! what did happen to Nayak. In hindi it was a big time flop. the same case with Kalapani also. Wonderful songs in tamiz but flop in hfm.

  Ragavan, Nayak is a remake. If we take remake as category many times adapted tunes fit very properly like Virsat.

  Songs like vaseegara we went ga ga about,
  was termed dink chank songs in hindi. (of course its remake still its same adapted tunes).
  
  I think the reason is we are satisfised very easily, and in hindi they dont appreciate some credentials well.

  unlike of ottam, uryire, tallam ..Jodi was a winner. Ta ra ram pam and kadhal kadidam ... sounded well in tamil.

  We need to distinguish between films that are dubbed directly and films that are remade into other languages. There is a movie in Telugu called 'Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari', which had a song called 'Abbani Teeyani Debba'. None of the songs became a hit when this movie when dubbed into Hindi. However this song was later 'composed' again by Anand-Milind for Beta and the song is nothing else but 'Dhak Dhak karne laga'. It turned out to be one of the best songs of all times..... what to say?????

  songs from Indiran chandiran( from telugu) are hit even in tamil.
