Query on a KB movie

Does any one know if there is a Tamil version of K Balachander's telugu classic 'Kokilamma'? It has wonderful songs by MSV. Telugu version stars Saritha, Swapna and Rajiv(?). Saritha is a dumb servent maid. She goes out of the way and helps Rajiv, an upcoming singer. Rajiv becomes a big singer, falls for a rich lady, Swapna and ignores Saritha. MSV came up with some haunting melodies, but it's very hard to find the tapes/CDs of telugu version. If anyone is aware of the tamil version of this film, let me know.

  Kokilamma is pretty old movie, I guess early 80's
  Sarita is deaf, not dumb as I mentioned.
