IF ILAIYARAAJA IS A BRAHMIN.........

i feel he would have been projected as 'THE' music director of india. he would have got Barathratna. all carnatic musicians would fall at his feet.

  I think it is dangerously true....being myself belongs to his sect...i have had enough discrimination, abuses and my God think of this stature and the discrimination and abuses he might of had.....GOD we pray you not to change these people.....we know they wont change....but please give us some more patience to handle these people....

  Hello TFM brethrens please speak from your heart had ARR belong to the same people as IR would ithave been possible for him to come up to this position i dont think so.....people might've pulled down....I am not underestimating ARR's abilities..iam just talking about the exact scenario....

  This is RUBBISH. Firstly,Film music world does not look for acknowledgement or approval from the Carnatic music circle. Even if you want to look at it, Semmangudi, Balamurali have praised Illayaraja no end. Subbudu, the fierece Carnatic music critic who rapes musicians mostly (including Brahmins if you want to look at it that way) is a huge fan of IR. U.Srinivas has released an album of IR;s compositions. There was a concert in Madras where Illayraja performed a Carnatic music concert which TV Gopalakrishan led from the front & Semmangudi presided.
  
  The Brahmin-Non Br exists within Carnatic music. THere is a theory that Nadaswaram has been sidelined primarily because it was not played by Brahmins.
  
  Regarding national awards, that is a North South politics. SPB mentioned in a recent concert in Madras on why P.Susheela was not considered for any national award when she was as good as anyone in India.
  Sivaji didn't win the national award while MGR won it for Rickshawkaran. Now is that Sivaji is not a brahmin ?
