HNRAI seems to be a fantastic experiment with all the five music directors or teams producing very good songs. A strong sense of individuality comes right across each piece with the MDs vying with each other for the elusive BEST SONG tag. I believe more such efforts must be encouraged and the MDs all have a great future in TFM.

  You dont need music for those lyrics.. they could as well talk to each other and convey..

  I think it is the other way round,Mr. Genius, atleast for two songs. Do take the time to hear the lyrics of the song "Kaadhal Vanduchcho" before you speak. Hear the lyrics, two or three times before deciding. I think after a long time, somebody other than Vairamuthu has written such a song, which combines the beauty of nature with a romantic air. Though true justice was not done to the lyrics by the music or the singing of Shankar Mahadevan. And by the way, specify which were the songs which had bad lyrics instead of generalizing, so someone could repartee.

  I guess expecting all the songs to have good lyrical content today is difficult. But HNRAI seems to have acceptable lyrics in my opinion, good singing and great music. I cant stop listening to it.And mind it, I havent stopped listening to it since the first day it was released in raaga. Even movies like KM I have stopped a while back.Not this.

  oh my god...I don't know about the lyrics or whatever, but the title of the movie makes me sick. I mean...what the f*ck?! Nee Romba Azhaga Irukke?? Where has people's imaginations gone to? Remember the old days when they had such surreal and beautiful titles such as poovizhi vaasalilae, varsham 16..etc? This seems like what some idiot porruki would say on the streets of madras 2002! I guess now the directors of movies themselves are porrukies now.

  just one song is stupid in the movie.
  the one done by srinivas. complete prose and stupidity, but its a nice tune.
  
  the other songs are adjustable. the kaadhal vandhuchoa is good but the best one is the first song, "thottuchellum" by ramesh vinayagam.
  
  pazhanibaarathi has penned some good lines like
  " sila nEranggaL vizha vaikkiraai
  sila nEranggaL ezha vaikkiraai
  edukku edhukkindha viLaiyaattu ?
  
  vizha vaippadhum ezhavaippadhum
  azha vaippadhum sugam sErppadhum
  azhagu padhumaiyin kaiyoottu"
  
  nice one la...
  
  get the good ones of the bad.
  thats always better.
  
  and the title is stupid. vasanth wants to immitate hindi titling sense in KW.

  I also think the lyrics could have been better :
  
  1) Ini Naanum Naan Illai - The humming ... sukka or whatever could have been replaced with words. I mean, like the piece "Netru Un Iravil" in Alaypayuthe.. before 'Snegithane' starts.
  
  2) Oru Kadhal Vandhucho - best lyrics of all
  
  3) Poi Sollalam - The beat is exactly the same from 'Then Merku' from 'Karuthamma' (which is not original either). Still it has been used very well in this song. Unni Krishnan sounds great. I think Anuradha Sriram can do better at high pitch.
  
  4) Thottu Thottu - Sweet song. "Ulle Ulle" should have been replaced with words, partly at least.
  
  5) Yamini - Humming at its best .. the Oho.. at the beginning of the song.
  
  Overall, all the songs can be rated as 4*s.

  YOU ARE ALL TALKING ABOUT LYRICS.. BUT IF "OH PODU" IS A BIG HIT, HOW CAN WE EXPECT A GOOD LYRICS? NATURALLY EVERYONE WILL TRY TO GIVE SOMETHING LIKE THAT.. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS? BUT, SONGS IN THIS HNRAI IS NOT THAT BAD. SRINIVAS' SONG STARTS WITH A SANSKRIT. IT IS NOT NOT A RUBBISH.BUT NOT REQUIRED FOR A TAMIL SONG. KAADHAL VANDHUCHO IS A VERY GOOD SONG WITH VERY GOOD LYRICS. EVEN POI SOLLALAM'S LYRICS IS GOOD . IF WE AVOID BAD LYRICS, WE WILL GET GOOD LYRICS AND GOOD SONGS. LET US NOT MAKE A MISTAKE OF MAKING ANOTHER "OH PODU". HNRAI SONGS ARE VERY GOOD. GOOD WORK FROM THE NEW MUSIC DIRECTORS. LET US ACCEPT THAT AND APPRECIATE THEM.

  Wait till you hear "Kadhal Samrajyam".
  
  If you think HNRAI lyrics are bad, KS lyrics must be classed atrocious [ I really mean atrocious].
  Agathyan has penned some good lyrics in the past but he failed miserably this time. It must be one of the worst lyrics that I have heard in recent times.:(
  U can have taste of it @ www.musicindiaonline.com although the sample quality is pretty bad itself.

  Does it mean that the people who comment should be great enough in the field to comment ..?take for instance ,subudu is he a great singer ...?He has a god knowledge in raaga and etc ,which is suffcient .

  I feel lyrics do form an important part of any song and "commenting on lyrics" cannot be called as commenting on petty issues. The songs with good lyrics linger in our memory for long than the ones like O Podu. I think movies are for common people like me and to express my views I do not have to be an expert in lyrics.
