  CS Jayaraman used to sing the Mangiyathor Nilavinile as Thanippaadal. KVM fined tuned it and used it in Paavai Vilakuu with permission of CSJ and made him sing it.

  Raghu,
  `Masila unmai kaathale' is not the only song AMR sang for MGR. See my list above June 27th. Add Ethirparathathu to Sivaji's list.

  Thanks for the correction about Devanarayanan. It's been decades since I heard that song, AMR and Devanarayanan had voices almost identical to each other, so I got confused.

  Mangiyathor Nilavinile by TMS is indeed from Thirumanam. All I could remember was Gemini Ganesan singing that song and got confused with Neethipathi. Thanks.
  Thanks also for the other corrections and for filling the blanks. In fact Adhi mathura and Mei vizhimel were my typos, the rest were infos only people like you could provide. Can you also shed some light on the songs `Panpaadi varum oodai' and `Oh kalai thenoorum' listed above by GV on June 26th?

  Ini aahatha soham cannot be from Laila Majnu, cos all male numbers from that movie is by Gantasala. Most probably, it is from Vipranarayana.

  Hi all,
  
  One of the best solos by AMR is from 'Ethirparathathu'. The song is 'Sirpi Sethukkatha Porchilaye'. The climax of this song is great, starts from a low pitch and goes into high octave. My all-time fav. AMR solo. And the duets with PS in Parthiban Kanavu (the old one made on basis of Kalki novel). 'Ithayavanin Udaya Nilave', my fav. PS-AMR duet. There are many more great duets of PS and AMR
