I feel of-late there are fewer songs from SPB! I am of the opinion we should use SPB more and more in his life time because there is never going to be another SPB!
Due respect to other singers and no denying the fact that new singers should be given opportunities. This intention of this discussion is not to offend fans of other singers.
Why our music directors do not reaslise this?

is that a Hindi movie, or Dubbed hindi movie ?

Ranjit, I think it was an orginal Hindi film.
Most probably, it was later remade in Kannada,
with Suhaasini as female lead.

It was a heroine-oriented movie.
There was no hero in the conventional
manner.

In the newtfmpage forum, there have been much discussions about
S.P. Baala Subraamaniam but still nothing constructive and
concrete has come about. In the 90's specially, there has been
much international fame and publicity for even some average and
below average vocalists, musicians etc., yet such an inordinarily
resourceful vocalist as SPBS remains utterly unknown to, let
alone the world, even to northern subcontinent; whereas each and
every individual in the subcontinent knows who is Lata, Aasha or
Rafi. The sublimest, the most magnificent of vocal recitals by
SPBS are in Telugu, Kannada, and Taamil, which are listened to
by very few outside the boundries of southern India. Whereas almost
every "subcontinantlist" listens to Urdu/Hindi songs.
On the internet there have been many websites containing exclusively
the songs of some other vocalists but not SPBS. If we believe that
music is for entertainment, for inspiration, and for solace, then
there should be some website that can be accessed by everyone who
wants to experience music of highest caliber. The condition of
radio stations in the subcontinent is known to everyone. They
have an undeclared oath that they will not relay the songs
from the 1980's, 70's and late 60's. And even if they do, they
avoid quality songs as much as a gardener avoids thorns.
A website exclusively containing quality songs by SPBS is due on Taamilians
(in fact, even more so on Kannada and Telugoo speakers). Anyway, on
Taamil side who will come forward to establish such a website? There
might be many website developers etc., in this forum. And if such an
endeaver is not made then it will be clear that nothing constructive
and substantial ensues from all these discussions.
Most important aspect is that the songs selected for such a website
should be the sublimest vocal recitals by SPBS. Nothing average or
below average should find place in such a website, for its purpose
will be to provide solace and inspiration to the listeners. Even
mere good songs won't do. Anyway, the selection of the vocal
performances by SPBS can be done later through discussions in these pages.

Actually , SPB is capable of singing any kind of song better than any other singer does. I don't understand the need to encourage singers having idiotic accents and not capable of showing right variations to sing songs in Southern Languages.. It's a pity...
But Long Live SPB.
