Karthik film songs - why they are hit

All times in EST +10:30 for IST.

Karthik is not known to sit with MDs or directors or
Lyric writers before the movie. But the songs in his
movies (most of them) are melodious or hummable and
hit (75%).. how is that..?

There is no preference shown by Karthik. Infact he does not decide the MD most of the times. But either IR or DEva or SAR it is Hit.. any Karthik - ARR movie..?

  I fully agree with Ramani . Karthick movies have realy hummable songs right from the days of Alaigal Oyvathillai, Ninaivellam Nithya when he wasn't known much as a actor. Movies like "en Jeevan Paduthu" also come into this category. In recent times , Kizhakku vasal, Varusham 16, Ponnumani, Gopura vasalile, Nadodi Thendral are proof of the fact.
  But I too wonder whether he is lucky or has a say in the music.

  Karthik's songs were good so long as good MDs were scoring the music. Consider his songs of late when Sirpi, Adityan, Agosh and others have been "composing" for his films - the music has been dustbin quality. So nothing to do with Karthik.

  I disagree with Kaushik in that "Amaran" by Adityan was a hit, especially, the songs by Karthik, Srividya (even though I don't like it much) and the songs "Nadodi pattu","Munthanai selai","Enna ethu irava" from Arichandra by Agosh are hit.Apart from the above mentioned films, I like to mention the following:
  1)Pandi Nattu thangam - Elela kuyile, siru kutula, En manasula etc
  2)Periya veetu pannakkaran - Malligaiye, Muthu Muthu medai, Nikkattuma etc
  3)Solla thudikuthu manasu - Poove sempoove, Thenmozhi, Unathu vizhi madi mele
  4)Ithu namma boomi - aaradi suvar than, Vana villai
  5)Natpu - Athikaalai, subavelai
  6) Sattathin thirappu vizha - Sorgathin vasappadi
  7) Chinna Jamin - Oru Mantharapoo vantha

  8) Idhaya thamarai - Oru kaathal devathai, Kanne manasu
  9)Nadodi pattukaran - Vanamellam senbagapoo
  10)Deiva vakku - Valli valli,Urellam samiyaga, Entha ammanukku
  11) Solai Kuyil - Kottunga ketti melam, Malaiyora, Solai kuyil, Kannulla Nikkuthu
  12) Muthu Kaalai - Antha kanji kalayaththa
  13) Velicham - Thulli thulli pogum penne( even though in the film it is by Nizhalgal Ravi)

  IMO , hit songs are different from quality songs.
  If u take "oru kAdhal devada" from idhaya thamarai (MD -shankar -ganesh) is a quality song. mundAnai selai is NOT a quality song.
  Anna nagaru aandAlu is also a hit song. How about it's quality???

  I am a fan of Karthik and yes somehow songs from his movies are quite pleasant and hummable esp in Kathal Solla Vanthen.
  
  But somehow IMHO Karthik is getting quite typecast as a sacrifing hero - giving up his love to the other guy or widowed etc (Thai Porandachu, Kannan Varuvan, Anandha Poongkatre etc). My friend has a theory that Karthik is actually trying to get across to the Indians the message of sacrifice. Any opinions?

  I like kathik's film especially unakkakka ellam unakkakka.It was nice film.In that film karthik,ramba,mumtaj and comedy actors like kaundamani and vivek's comedy was very nice.
