What makes a music director?

This is a very general thread that i wanted to start to see th view of th public- and i start by askin..is it totally necessary for a music director to be familiar with 'ragaas' as opposed to jus makin tunes up usin different notes on any scale...also, wat are th otha qualities ppl are lookin for in new music directors- pls try b more specific than jus 'originality'. i'm very keen on writin music..and have studied western music and some caranatic music..i jus wana kno how ppl feel..thanq

  This is what i 'feel ' and this is no conclusion !!!
  1.The music which you compose ,first of all should be satisfcatory to you .
  2.The song should reflect the scene .For example a romantic number should indicate it is a romantic song .
  3.EVen though the composition is great ,what matters in the end is how clear are the sounds .Because a great song may be spoiled by poor mixing !!!!
  4.SOngs should definetly have some variety and yet should make some sense
  
  5.Don't ask such questions to general public .You will never become a good composer !!!(isai ,I respect ur desire ...iam not a composer but going by common sense if u get the opnions of people and then start composing or compose by that standards u will never make it to the top nor will the music composed will be self satisfcatory !!!)
