Illayaraja, The Suberb Lyric Writter

Recently, I saw the video cassette of Kallaingar M.Karunanidhi's Pavalla Vizha. Illayaraja has written a wonderfull song about kallaingar M.K. as it goes like ...Thaane, Thannai Thaane, Thannai Thaane Tamizhukku Thanthane... He is an exceptional lyric writter as u can see in Manniye mannikuille Mallayillam Kathirazhage...

I am starting this thread to be able to discuss and share his wonderful lyrics also.

  Srikanth! You were justified in trying to put things in their perspective . But I am surprised you arent tired of this act! Anyway, if you feel raja is being crowned for something he doesnt deserve, please do voice your opinion. But atleast this thread we were being objective . We were praising Raja for his *GOOD LYRICS*.   I know this is not the proper forum but I had no choice considering 'firewall' and my ignorance to beat the system. I have read many posts which refer to your musical talents. I am in the US and I perform regularly light music with orchestra groups.   IR did not write lyrics for any song in
  'Deshiageetham'.Out of 8, 5 were written
  by Mr.Vasan, who died recently at the age of

  Of course,'das das' in kadalora kavithaigal was his first lyrics.He has excelled in scripts too.Naadodi thendral is a film in which he wrote the story,lyrics and music.
