Hi Everybody,
Recently I came across a Tamil radio station called Thendral which is broadcast from New York, US. This is an up and coming internet radio in the United States. It has lots of special and variety programs other than film songs. To mention a few, Thendral broadcasts "Vinnai Thodum Veethiyil Irunthu" - a program which discusses about how can we improve our motherland, Tamilnadu based from the things learnt from the United States, "Thagaval Thozhilnutpa Neram" - a program on Information Technology which talks about a to z in IT world, "Payanulla Inaya Pakkangal - which discusses about useful web sites" and so on. The URL is http://www.thendral.com. Also there is a song request program where you can call the station or send an email to send your song requests. Hope you will enjoy Thendral.

Previously I used to hear Oli but now I am an ardent listener of Thendral. For the past 5 months I am listening to Thendral's programs. The quality of the programs are very good. Also I am amazed by the sound quality. The broadcast is cyrstal clear and there is no irritating bufferings like Oli. The interesting feature of Thendral is even if we miss their Live broadcast, we can listen to the programs at our convenient time thru their recorded programs facility. When my 3 year old daughter requested Thendral for a song they fulfilled it immediately. Now she is a big fan of Thendral.

Sorry to bring this thread out of the archives, but did not know where else to ask this question. Jus a quick query. I have been hunting for Indian, esp. Tamil/Telegu radio channels which can be received via satellite. I found All India Radio (supposedly Tamil ver) on Insat2E, but its coverage does not extend to down under. I've looked up all the channels for Thaicom2,3 (Star Vijay, etc) and NSS703 (Sun Network), but there was nothing there.
I feel like searching for a needle in a haystack, and will be really grateful if someone can tell me if I'll be able to find one. If there r any, pls gimme the details or at least the sat name.
Also, down under the range is between about 057.0 to 169.0.

Hey guys. Have you heard our friend Srikanth D's interview in Thendral ? Look for it in the archives. You can also hear RajaG and listen to Udhaya's lyrics in the song samples.

I feel this web radio from America is really fantastic. I am beginning to be addicted to the newas which is very well presented. Keep up the good work!
