  MSV has done the songs while IR takes care of the BGM. Hope this will be a treat for us from the champions after a long gap.

  Do you mean MSV has composed the tune and IR has done the interludes or MSV has taken care of songs and IR the re-recording ?
  If it is the former, then we can expect a hit like "Mella thiranthathu.." and "Senthamizh Paattu". If it is the second one, then I am afraid as MSV is out of trend !

  Raja, it's the latter. MSV has done the songs. IR has done BGM for the film.

  If what u say is true then we hav been [ atleast me] giving undue credits for IR for the songs of MTK !!! i jus thought both of them collaborated and composed the songs!!!

  In the case of MTK, the orchestration / interludes etc for the songs was indeed by IR...I've read somewhere in the DF Srikanth's eye-witness account of the composing / recording of `kuzhaloodhum kaNNanukku'...
  
  So the songs had contribution from both and you don't have to take away credit from IR:-)

  i strongly feel MTK is IR'variations on MSV' past songs, which means Orchestration also for most songs: MSV did just one song original and complete by himself in that movie: Ooru Sanam - pachchai MSV top to toe. But, naturally SPB and IR gives MSV full credit to the Guru; one is respect, second they are variations on MSV' past songs, especially Dhil Dhil Manadhil and Vaa Vennila; But, Kuzhaloodhum is pure IR, it is not MSV style.....

  Gyan, thedum KaNN paarvai, easily the best tune in that album, was composed by MSV. SPB himself mentioned that in the MSV-special "mellisai mannarin isaipayanam" programme in Jaya TV sometime back when he was praising the tune's structure in front of MSV.IR did only the orchestration for all the songs.
