ILLAYARAJA CAFE - USA AND WORLDWIDE

Friends, I want to recommend the idea of something equivalent to Internet cafe, a place to step by and listen to Raja's 3000 songs, theme music, non-filmi albums, etc.. on a private basis. Any ideas to attract listeners other than TFM fans? This is purely Illayaraja Cafe and I want to start in the USA with some marketing tool! The first time ever in the world a composer or band is the sole capstone for a CAFE. Any comments welcome...

  My intention first of all is to create a library of sorts ,of songs ranging from the days of Papanasam Sivan to MSV,TKR,IR (really rare ones) first. Presently, I am unable to lay my hands onto gems of CR Subburaman & SV Venkatraman. When this idea of the 'Hall of fame' crossed your mind, where/who is the repository you intended to refer to ?

  Good Idea,
  'Planet Hollywood' is good example of a restaurant based on a theme. It is very common in the US to have upscale restaurants on a theme (like surfing for eg).
  When I was in Madras, I went to New Madurai Restaurant in College road. They were playing Tamil 'oldies'. It made me very nostalgic and the music heightened my pleasure of dining out.
  So there you go.. There are no Indian restaurants with a theme. I am sure banks here will loan you money for such a restaurant easily .. You may have to broaden your them a little ..like south Indian film music in general or something.

  Planet Hollywood is bankrupt. Theme restaurants all over US are tottering on the edge of bankruptcy. This IR-Cafe (businesswise) is a non-starter anywhere let alone in the US.
