Is 2001 the worst year for the TFM too in the past decade?

The year 2001 will go down in history as one of the worst years for the music industry in the past decade. On the creative side, there was a lot of experimentation and innovation with new sounds, more in films than in pop, yet the music companies couldn’t rake in the moolah. As a result, all the music industries were lying low.

He attributes the slump in cassette sales to a low creativity phase of composers. “Leading music composers weren’t at their creative best this year. Nadeem-Shravan, Anu Malik, A.R. Rahman, whose music has been lapped up by listeners in all these years, didn’t churn out good music consistently, as expected from them. This resulted in the music market crashing. Though A.R. Rahman came up with a good score in Lagaan, his other releases this year, namely One Two Ka Four, Zubeidaa, Love You Hamesha and Nayak, were flops musically. Only Lagaan was the saving grace for him.”

  When the hell have the Indhi songs been listenable. Indhi music is always meant to be in the gutter, standard wise!! 2001 maybe the worst of the worse years for HFM. What is super-standard for you guys?? Govinda's Tapori songs??

  Though this article talks mostly about Hindi songs, there is a general statement " The year 2001 will go down in history as one of the worst years for the music industry in the past decade". Well will this include TFM too? that is my query. Major casette sales are attributed to ARR. When he fails, then what is the state of others? Did they do well?
