I have been in US since September. While I was in India, well to be specific in Madras , I was doing live music shows - Light Music. I play the key board and sing. On coming to US I feel I am starved of that excitement of performing on stage. I have a key board and to keep in touch with the current trend though I have not been playing in Public in US , I have been up to date with the new songs though my and our groups favourite has always been Maestro Raaja. Is there any groups around in US or are there people interested in getting together for the sake of Tamil Film Music. I live in Connecticut. Would somebody respond ?

Hey madhu ,,that was interesting.... I am too interested in music and try hard deciphering Maestros musical stunts as far as keyboard is concerned.I felt that Maestro did lot of illusion in the way he scored music.Similar to the holography technique,,maestro has used lot of notres wherein he tricks the ears into listening something diffrerent where as when the notes were actually different.Hope u had such a experience.

hello Verghese and Ravi
Verghese thanks for your direction . I shall definitely visit Srikanth's Home page
Well Ravi!
I am glad to know that there is somebody with same interest.
Some of the songs of Raaja for which I reall had sweated out to reproduce them atleast 40-50% of the original effect are Azhagu Aayiram in Ullasa Paravaigal, Etho Mogam in Kozhi Koovuthu , Paatu Thalaivan Paadinal in Idhaya Koil, Hey Unnaithaane in Kaadhal Parisu, Hey I Love You in Unnai Naan santhithen. Some of the songs which sounds simple, really when you sit down from the reproducing aspect-for rehersals Ohhhhh! But there used to be immense pleasure when the songs come out well on stage and the audience accept them as good reproductions. Well if ameteur musicians like us get some fame and recognition - All credits to Raaja. I am sure you would accept with me on this

Sure Madhu u are damn right. The pleasure one gets after deciphering maestros notes is a sense of fulfillment. No wonder he has Viji Manuel as his main Keyboard artist who is a son of the legendary pianist Handel Manuel.Handel manuel once remarked proudly in TV that his son was working for the genius and maestro Ilayaraaja. What more can one ask for.Its easy to satisfy common man but a musician certainly nah.Well madhhu...have yaa tried the song " Ilam Pani thuli vizhum neram...." from the film "Araadhanai".Man the keyboard and the guitar go hand in hand with the notes of the song.Great peice of accompaniment. The mood it creates is of a rainy day yearning.Man.. i am overwhelmed cant say anything more.U sure must be in dire straits in this part of the world...and must be longing for your days when u played in the stage aint it..?

Hi, Ravi and Madhu
Ravi, your picking the song 'Illam Pani Thuli Vizhum Neram' is an exceptional mood song. Man, I used to wonder how in the heaven did Raja compose those strange, strange, mad, mod, fugue type interlude. That is one of my favorite rain songs as you said that song exactly reminds of what it was composed for. HAS ANYONE IN THIS UNIVERSE EVER CREATED ANYTHING AS PERFECT AND PERFECTLY SYMMETRICALLY BEATIFULL AND TIMELESS AS AN ILLAIYARAJA COMPOSTION? This is one question in my life for which I have always the ABSOLUTE answer.
I have a plan, guys. I am going to the Chicago Symphony here to check out if there is a possibility that they can invite IR here to perform! And, what would it take to do so.
Nithin
