Oru Kalakku Kalakkiya( Major Impact ) Songs

  At times, we have seen and heard some songs making a major impact on People, Society, etc. It could be the "Music", "Lyrics", "Dance", "Picturization" or Namathu Abhimaan Natchattiram Presenting the song or some combination of these factors.
  
  Let us list those songs that we have seen making the impact or heard of.
  
  I can say "Manmatha Leelaiyai Venraar Undo" by MKT must have been a sensational and controversial song at that time, but is still a very populatr song.
  
  Similarily, I can point on "Naan Aanaiyittaal, Athu Nadanthu Vittaal" by MGR made a major impact on the people.
  
  "Yaaradhi Nee Mohini" from "Uthama Puthiran" was a VERY popular song for the Music, Lyrics, Dance, Sivaji, Helen, TMS, and the picturization.
  
  In recent times, the movie "Kaathalan" had some excellent songs, but the songs "Oorvasi, Oorvasi" and "Mukkaala Mukkaabala" made major impact.
  
  From "Bombay", it was "Antha Arabhikkadaloaram" which made a major impact than the better songs.
  
  I am trying to find what we perceive as Major Impacting Songs of the last three or four decades and why.

  Hi Shankar, I can agree with "Raja Rajaadhi Rajan" song from Agni Natchattiram which was a unique with good beat, nice picturization and had a major impact with youngsters.
  I also agree with "Machaanai Paartheengala" making a singnificant impact( obviously that song pushed IR to the greatest heights! ).
  But, I am not sure about "Senthamizh Theinmozhiyaal". I know it is a great song and a big hit. But, did it make a major impact and if so, how and why?
  
  Arun, Yes, "Pothuvaaga Ennmanasau Thangam" made a good impact.
  
  Kumar, "Chikkubukku Chikkubukku Rayilu", of course, made a tremendous impact, IMO, much more than many of ARR's greates hits.
  
  How about, "Oarambo Oarambo, Rukkumani Vandi Varuthu" from "Ponnu Oorukku Puthusu". That song was very different and with good folksy beat and funny lyrics.
  Also, "Vaa Vaathiyaarey Oottaandey" with the lyrics and Manorama's voice made a great impact on listeners at that time.

  Kumar, I missed talking about "Raasaathi Unnai Kaanaatha Nenju" - I am not sure if that song made a great impact? It was a big hit, nevertheless.
  
  Kanchana, yes, "Atho Antha Paravai Poala" made such an impact and I remember vividly when I heard that song years ago and know how much of an impact it had made on kids like us then.
  
  Arun, "Aaha Vanthiruchu" with MVasaudevan's changed voice was unique and "Anney Anney" with Solomon's "husky" voice made a different impact on listeners.
  
  I hope you G's understand that I am listing songs that were "atleast one step greater than" being hits or popular. Something different from just being good and catchy - something unique in some flavor.

  How about "nila athu vaanathu mele" - Nayagan.
  I also think, "Anthi mazhai pozhigirathu" made a good impact.
  I am not sure how much"paartha nyabagam illayo" made an impact.
  and same is "Amma enrazhaikatha uyir illaiye.."

  I agree with you. I went and checked the other thread and it is almost identical to this thread. The topic-name kind of gave the impression that the other thread is on "aadavaikkum" songs by which I mean "foot-tapping songs" and hence I started this thread where I expected to list songs that made an impact both slow&fast, happy&pathos version of songs.
  But, the songs listed in the other thread is along the same lines as the ones being listed here. Also, cp has clearly added statements under the thread asking for songs that drive people nuts something like "major impact"
  Sorry about this confusion.
  If we all agree then we can close this topic and continue with the other thread.

  Krish, you got a good list of songs. Except "Marugo Marugo" and "Annaathey Aaduraar"( both of these are very big hits ), I can understand how the other songs could have made a big impact. I am not too sure if the above mentioned 2 songs made such a big impact on people except for being great hits.
