  Do you think ALL Tamils listen to Tamil songs?
  What I am saying is that ARR has managed to even sway Tamils who were not listening to Tamil songs (or any Indian songs for that matter) to listen to them. Ithu oru viyakka vaikkum seithithaan aanaal namba mudiyaatha seithi illeiye?
  
  BTW, how come no comments on the No. 2 stage? Ithukku peruthaan selective criticism-aa? :)
  
  Incidentally, there was an article in today's local paper where Harris Jeyaraj was interviewed, where he says similar things. I'll try finding it.

  Please stop comparing IR who has done 800+ movies at an astonishing song composition rate. (He is known to hv composed a tune for songs in 45 seconds flat). A giant in the industry with over 25 years of experience. Its an insult to IR if he gets compared with a guy whose age is his experience. Lets c where ARR stands after 25 years. No doubt ARR has talent and he's proving himself but its too mean to compare him with a legend that is IR.
  Its like comparing Madhavan with Shivaji Ganesan.

  Yes, you are right. We should not compare ARR with IR. It is comparing a person who is soaring-sky-high with a has-been.

  really those 8 stages were nice, in addition to that whatever u have mentioned i.e. implied is correct.
  
  seeing the postings here i feel whether this thread is discussion about "whether ARR is over rated or not". Inga aedhukku paa ARR paththi discussion? If some of us feel ARR is overrated, that doesn't justify to stop the discussion whether IR is over-rated or not. If some of us feel ARR is brilliant still that doesn't justify to say IR is overrated or not. Let us dwell with IR's music and for genre may quote other MDs and see whatever popularity IR has got is less or more. If we feel that this topic is discussed already then we can very well stop writing in this thread.
  
  If not, lets see some of the postings like that of JLB (be it accusation) and dissect whether they can be substantiated or not.
