ritigowla ragam

Hi all
after illayaraja, no one has handled Ritigowla ragam in their composition. Such a classic raga is used excellently by IR in his compositions. some of the master pieces includes

1)Chinna kannan - kavikuyil
2)thalyai kuniyum - ezhavathu manithan
3) raman kadi kellungal - sippikul muthu

any other compositions, let me know.

Does the present day composers do have this capacity???

  Although my full marks goes to Chinna Kannan (Kavikuyil) by IR,
  
  Aghagana Ratchasiye -- Mudhalvan by ARR is also good usage of Ritigowla ragaam.

  Azhagana ratchasiye is not "Reethigowla" ragam. The ragam sholnd have "sgrgmnnS" in its Arohanam which is not there in Azhagana.

  Thalaiyai kuniyum thamaraiye is from Oru Oodai Nadhiaagirathu and not Ezhavathu Manithan. Meetathe Oru Veenai from Poonthottam is also a reethigowlai.

  "Meetaadha oru veenai" is a grossly overlooked gem in Reethigowlai from IR's repertoire, from the film poonthottam which got released in late 90's.This song has a western flavour due to its superb guitar works and the thaalam of this song is quite complex.
  There is also a fantastic reethigowlai bgm spanning about 3 minutes with veena, violin in a lousy pandiaraajan film(I don't remember the name of the film) of late 80's and the MD is ofcourse IR.
  ARR's "Azhagaana raakhshasiye" is also reethigowlai. Probably there may be some anya swaras.Yet , I like this song too.

  There is one song from unnaineenichan pattu padicheen" song is ennai thottu allikonda is also ritigowla.

  Azhakaana raakshasiye is in Kedara ragam, imho. Some one more knowledgeable about Carnatic music can confirm it.

  There is one fantastic song in malayalam - Onnam raagam Paadi, tuned my a mallu MD Perumbavoor.g.Ravindranath. That is equally a good composition as IR's.
  
  By the by, have you noticed the swrasanchara of 'Chinnakkannan Azhaikkiran'?. It goes like
  'S G R G M N N S'. - That is the arohanam of the ragam itself. Great . balamuralikrishna would have been taken by surprise to see an upcoming MD, and that too without any professional training in Carnatic, coming up with such a gem.

  Onnam ragam is an execllent RITIGOWLA song - venugopal's nice rendition.
