Analysis of Tamil Songs - What & Why

I have a desire of getting deeper into the cine songs and know the inner details like.... Raaga,Tala, instruments used in perspective of What & Why & Who.
I am not too good with songs but can understand it well. But i think you people can help me.

I would like it to be started with the song "Kamalam Paadha Kamalam" from Mogamul.

I kindly request the successors to suggest some good decent songs for the Analysis.

  'Kamalam Paada Kamalam'... all I can tell you is its raaga. That is Ramapriya, the 52nd Melakarta Raagam. Its structure is
  
  [s r1 g3 m2 p d2 n2 S].

  Can anyone confirm me the raga of the song "Azhagu malar aada" from the film "Vaidehi Kaathirundhaal". Is it Hindolam or Chandrakauns? And also can anyone tell me the difference between the two ragas and their prayogam?

  Can you please let me know the difference in the usage of Chandrakauns and Hindolam? I had tried to identify the notes of the song in the keyboard and they move perfectly in the Hindolam raagam.
